The origin of our device

Dieter’s journey as an inventor began in an unexpected place: a retirement village. As a resident of Living Choice Twin Waters, Dieter found inspiration in the challenges faced by his fellow bowls enthusiasts.

He noticed that many players struggled with mobility issues when delivering the bowl onto the green, and saw an opportunity to make a difference.

Drawing on his background as a trained engineer, Dieter set out to create a solution. What started as a hobby soon became a passion project, evolving into a two-year endeavour that would change the game for many bowlers.

The result of Dieter's hard work and innovation was the Bowlar S-R, a lightweight, extendable arm with a unique self-release mechanism. This ingenious device allowed bowlers with limited grip ability or mobility issues to play without having to press buttons or release levers.

"It was a wonderful way for people suffering from arthritis in their hands to be able to continue in this sport," Dieter explained.

For Dieter, the Bowlar S-R was more than just an invention; it was a continuation of his lifelong passion for problem-solving. Throughout his career as an engineer, he had always sought ways to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Now, in his retirement, he had found a new way to apply his skills, making a meaningful difference in the lives of fellow bowls enthusiasts and proving that innovation knows no age limit.
